Midlevel Practitioner – Oncology
The Midlevel Practitioner will plan, organize and direct the care of patients seen at UTHSCT in collaboration with and under the supervision of the attending physicians. May act autonomously as determined by practice protocols established within the department between the supervising physician(s). Responsibilities include program development and coordination, clinical practice and research. Duties will be assigned by supervising physician and/or administrative officer. Must be willing to travel to various clinics in the Smith County area on short notice.
MAJOR DUTIES / CRITICAL TASKS:
•Provides patient care to assigned patients. This may include assessment, development, and implementation of a treatment plan; patient/family education.
•Serves as a team member in providing continuity of health care.
Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant’s program or a Master’s degree in Advanced Nurse Practice. Minimum one year experience as a midlevel practitioner in an oncology setting is required.
LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Licensed Physician Assistant from TMB or RN licensure as advanced practice nurse from the Texas State Board of Nursing Examiners.
BLS and ACLS certification.
